Description

When you have an urgent question, you might not want to wait for a later meeting or an email reply.

If someone’s online in Google Hangouts, you can send them a quick chat message and get an immediate response.

In Gmail and Inbox, if a name in your Hangouts list has a green circle next to it, that person is available to chat.

Examples

  • Ask quick questions without setting up a formal meeting or making a phone call.
  • If certain coworkers sit far away, send a chat message to check if they’re available before walking over.
